Huguenots,
name given to the Protestants of France from about 1560 to 1629.
Protestantism was introduced into France between 1520 and 1523,
and its principles were accepted by many members of the
nobility, the intellectual classes, and the middle class. At
first the new religious group enjoyed royal protection, notably
from Queen Margaret of Navarre and her brother, King Francis I
of France. Toward the end of his reign, however, Francis
persecuted the Protestants; his successor, Henry II, followed
his example. Nevertheless, the French Protestants increased in
number. At their first national synod (1559), or council, 15
churches were represented. At the next, held two years later,
more than 2000 churches sent representatives. There were Jewish
people involved. |

Cindy Jacobs Biography shortly Cindy's call to prophetic intercession was made clear to her during an extended season of seeking God's face when she was 20 years old. Cindy found herself praying with detailed accuracy over situations and people as the Holy Spirit took hold of burdens and brought forth blessings. This prophetic gift was honed in the prayer closet long before stepping into public ministry. Intercession is a training ground for the prophetic gifts, Cindy wrote in her book the Voice of God. As intercessors begin to experience regular answers to their prayers from supernatural knowledge given to them by God, many step forward to share with someone else what they are sensing. In 1985, Cindy and her husband Mike founded Generals of Intercession, with the intention of developing prayer strategies to unlock harvest in the nations of the world. From the foundation of the ministry, God emphasized the need to gather the gatekeepers in cities, regions and nations to receive together a corporate strategy for revival. The global headquarters for Generals International is located Texas, where Mike and Cindy currently reside. In the fall of 2004 the name of Generals of Intercession has been changed to Generals International to better reflect the scope of the ministry. Intercession is and always will be one of the driving forces of Generals International – our heart is to see God’s Kingdom established in the nations, which as a result produces cultural reformation and transformation.
