They are doing their "job"! Like some people, they just there, because they have been ask to be there, just to be there... they just doing their part. The problem with the Roman soldiers is that they are so hardened! For what they have been heard; what they been seeing; People are not going to Church anymore, because preachers failed. Somebody mess it up and it has hardened them. So they don't want to be around 'the cross', they don't want to under the Blood; They are watching everything, but have nothing to say... They are been hardened, just like a Roman soldier, who saw so much bleeding, so much blood; and after a while of seeing it, it's get 'old' to you! So they can take a whip, and beat an innocent man 39 times, walk away and feel nothing! They can take a hammer & nails in the hand on the wood, and nail and attach it to the cross, but they are doing that so long and so many times, after a while, you're feeling nothing.

The garments of the Lord Yeshua...

The garments of the Lord Yeshua that's interesting! It is the seamless garments that is very interesting aspects. In the Old Testament, the Torah, the Law of Moses, a High-priest had a 8-garments of 'beauty'! The gold crown, the miter head with "Holy unto the Lord" on it.

Priest "garments" from Torah perspective...

 ...FROM AMONG the Israelites take your brother Aaron and his sons with him, that he may minister to Me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons. And you shall make for Aaron your brother sacred garments [appointed official dress set apart for special holy services] for honor and for beauty. Tell all who are expert, whom I have endowed with skill {and} good judgment, that they shall make Aaron's garments to sanctify him for My priesthood. They shall make these garments: a breastplate, an ephod [a distinctive vestment to which the breastplate was to be attached], a robe, long {and} sleeved tunic of checker-work, a turban, and a sash {or} band. They shall make sacred garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to minister to Me in the priest's office. They shall receive [from the people] {and} use gold, and blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff], and fine linen.  (Exodus 28:1-5)

...And you shall weave the long {and} sleeved tunic of checker-work of fine linen {or} silk and make a turban of fine linen {or} silk; and you shall make a girdle, the work of the embroiderer. (Exodus 28:39)

...He put on Aaron the long under-tunic, girded him with the long sash, clothed him with the robe, put the ephod (an upper vestment) upon him, and girded him with the skillfully woven cords attached to the ephod, binding it to him. And Moses put upon Aaron the breastplate; also he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim [articles upon which the high priest put his hand when seeking the divine will concerning the nation]. And he put the turban {or} miter on his head; on it, in front, Moses put the shining gold plate, the holy diadem, as the Lord commanded him. And Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them. (Leviticus 8:7-10)

The garments which were to be made as recorded, at the time of the consecration of the Priesthood the garments were put on in the following order:

1.       Linen embroidered coat and girdle

2.       Robe

3.       Ephod

4.       Curious girdle of the ephod

5.       Breastplate (Urim & Thummim)

6.       Mitre

7.       Golden plate (the holy crown)

Fine linen stands for righteousness as applied to the saints. As applied to the High-Priest, a picture of the type of Yeshua Messiah; He was all righteousness.

The high priest is indeed adorned with a vestment reaches down to the feet, and sits close to the body; and has sleeves that are tied fast to the arms: it is girded to the breast a little above the elbows, by a girdle often going round, four fingers broad, but so loosely woven, that you would think it were the skin of a serpent, without abating one; only over these he puts on a vestment of a blue color. This also is a long robe, reaching to his feet, [in our language it is called Meeir,] and is tied round with a girdle, embroidered with the same colors and flowers as the former, with a mixture of gold interwoven. To the bottom of which garment are hung fringes, in color like pomegranates, with golden bells by a curious and beautiful contrivance; so that between two bells hangs a pomegranate, and between two pomegranates a bell. Now this vesture was not composed of two pieces, nor was it sewed together upon the shoulders and the sides, but it was one long vestment so woven as to have an aperture for the neck; not an oblique one, but parted all along the breast and the back. A border also was sewed to it, lest the aperture should look too indecently: it was also parted where the hands were to come out. (The Works of Flavius Josephus; Book 3 Chapter 7 Sections 1-7)

On the special "Day of Atonement" {Yom Kippur} the high priest came forth  dressed in four linen garments:

1.       A linen robe with long sleeves that draped to the ankles.

2.       A linen belt that tied around the waist.

3.       A pair of linen breaches.

4.       A linen turban that fit around the head.

The high priest removed his royal vestments such as the gold crown engraved with the Name of G-d; "Holy unto the Lord"; the breastplate of gold with the 12 precious stones, the Urim & Thummim; and the purple garment, to wear linen clothes.

...The Lord said to Moses, Tell Aaron your brother he must not come at all times into the Holy of Holies within the veil before the mercy seat upon the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat. But Aaron shall come into the holy enclosure in this way: with a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on the holy linen undergarment, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his body, and be girded with the linen girdle {or} sash, and with the linen turban {or} miter shall he be attired; these are the holy garments; he shall bathe his body in water and then put them on  (Leviticus 16:2-4)

Yeshua Messiah shed His Blood from seven different parts of His body:

That's the same garment that the priest had to wear!

That's the same garment that the priest had to wear! That's the type of garments that's been woven for the Levites. That's the type of garments that's been woven for the priests! The reason that's is start at the top, Scriptures declared that a priest is never to rip his garments. If you are a priest, and you break one of the laws that you not suppose to break, you're get recall commended! But if you're really doing totally wrong, they disqualify you from the priesthood! This in ancient days (Hebrews/Israelites) of the temple. They strip you down from your garment, they take the top and rip this garment. A priest garment was double him at the top, that it be not tore. Once this is done, you're no longer a priest! You have forfeited your priesthood. Rending their garments, men tore their garments, that's what they do. Jewish men are still doing this today in great time of national calamity or grief. They ripped their garments (Orthodox Jews doing this)  You cannot wear it again. It is a sign of great calamity or great distress!  So a priest is not to rip his garments. Caiaphas, the high priest, in Yeshua time, and it is Caiaphas, the high priest, when he heard about Yeshua, makes a statement: It was Caiaphas {the High priest} who had counseled the Jews that it was expedient {and} for their welfare that one man should die for (instead of, in behalf of) the people. (John 18:14).  Caiaphas based on this verse, understood something's: He clearly understood who Yeshua was! When Yeshua stood before Caiaphas; the high-priest later,and Caiaphas said to Yeshua: "Are you the Son of G-d? But Yeshua/Jesus kept silent. And the {Caiaphas} high priest said to Him, I call upon you to swear by the living G-d, and tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of G-d. Yeshua/Jesus said to him, You have stated [the fact]. More than that, I tell you: You will in the future see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Almighty and coming on the clouds of the sky. Then the {Caiaphas} high priest tore his clothes and exclaimed, He has uttered blasphemy! What need have we of further evidence? You have now heard His blasphemy. (Matthew 26:63-65)

That's what Caiaphas got so mad, that Yeshua had publicly told the chief priests, elders, and all the whole council that Caiaphas has said, "He was the Son of G-d!" And Caiaphas reached up and tore the garments from his neck! This is needed to understand: By the tradition of the law, the oral law of the Jews, Caiaphas was no longer the {high} priest of Israel! So the next day he has to go out, to perform the Passover rituals as the High priest, but Caiaphas has already ripped his garments! In the veil of the Temple, that kept men out, and kept G-d locked in. When Yeshua died on the cross on Golgotha, and gave up the ghost, at once the curtain {the veil} of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

And {Yeshua} Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit {ghost}. And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split. (Matthew 27:50,51)

It is significant it's from the top! This 'veil" is called in Judaism: "The him of G-d's garment!" So long as the 'him' of "G-d's garment" hang in that place between the Holy of Holies and the Holy place, from Moses' tabernacle to the temple of Solomon to the temple of Herod, this meant that G-d was still in business inside that building! This also meant that the High priest has to go in one's a year at Yom Kippur {The Day of Atonement}. So common men has to stay on the outside, and G-d has to stay "locked up" in the inside! But when Yeshua said: "It is finished!"  That's the last 3 words that a High priest said, when the last Passover lamb is scarified at Passover. When Yeshua said: : "It is finished!"  G-d Himself ripped "His garment" in two from top to bottom. Here is what He was saying: "This priest-hood is no longer value!" What going on in this temple is no longer value! Why did G-d not let ripped the garments of Yeshua? Why were the roman soldiers gambling for the garments? There were 4 pieces of clothes and the roman soldiers didn't took in a part! Symbolic, Yeshua is the new High Priest; Yeshua is about to redeem mankind; they cannot rear that garment! That's the garment of a priest! He had the same garment that the priest had. So when Yeshua said: : "It is finished!"  G-d's "him" is tore, but Yeshua's garment is not! That meant that G-d has transferred the priest hood from the Temple mount in Jerusalem, to the Son of G-d on Golgotha! A new {High} Priest was in town.

Flavius Josephus  wrote: "Now this vesture was not composed of two pieces, nor was it sewed together upon the shoulders and the sides, but it was one long vestment so woven as to have an aperture for the neck; not an oblique one, but parted all along the breast and the back..." (The Works of Flavius Josephus; Book 3 Chapter 7 Sections 1-7)

It seems that the Lord Yeshua, the Great High Priest of His people, also had a coat made in similar manner! That's the same garment He had on, when a woman said: When she had heard of Jesus/Yeshua, came in the press behind, and touched His garment. For she said, If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole.... (Mark 5:27-30)  In similar manner in: (Matthew 14:36) And begged Him to let them merely touch the fringe of His garment; and as many as touched it were perfectly restored. This is the same garment that He wore for 42 months when the miracles happen! Is it possible?

It is finished!

The Divine New Covenant Promise is going to work in your life also! Jesus Christ the Messiah (Yeshua) is our High Priest in Heaven! He is interceding for us with the Father in Heaven. The Holy Spirit is interceding also, when we lift up our devoted prayers to heaven! His suffering and death was not a disaster, but an achievement!
But Christ {Yeshua} being come an High Priest of good things to come, by greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is so to say, not of this building (Hebrews 9:11)
Wherefore G-d also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the Name of Yeshua/Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that {Yeshua} Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of G-d the Father {YHVH; אלהים }! (Philippians 2:9-11)

How can 4 Roman soldiers be that close to the greatest event of mankind & world history & be gambling at the foot of the cross?

Here is the part of the drama that is real touching the most: How can 4 men (Roman soldiers) be that close to the greatest event of mankind & world history and be gambling at the foot of the cross? How can you be so close to the blood, that's not even Earthly. Yeshua's blood is not coming from the seed of a man, it came from the Holy Spirit Himself! This is not just "Royal Blood", and never tasted by sin, and these soldiers are just a few feet away from the Blood that is assigned to redeem anybody in the Earth (Past; present and future) who want to belief...! It is about 32 AD approximate that this is happen. And those men are just gambling about His clothes!

A 4000 {Elohim} year prophecy

...in fulfilling right in front of them. The Scripture declared in: (Genesis 3:15) And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise {and} tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait {and} bruise His heel. G-d was predicting a Redeemer! 4000 year prophecy, and these soldiers are 4 to 2 feet away, and they are gambling at the foot of the cross.

A prophecy {Abraham} 1900 years of age.

From the time of 32 AD were G-d send Abraham on the top of mountain Moriah, in that same city near that same hill, "Put your son Isaac on there and let him carry the "wood" on the top of the mountain.

(Genesis 22:8) Abraham said, My son, G-d Himself will provide a lamb for the burnt offering. So the two went on together The 29th prophecy in (Genesis 22:8, fulfilled). Next, Genesis 22:16. The first prophecy of Abraham (Genesis 20:7). He spoke prophetically of G-d's Lamb (John. 1:29), and Yeshua's/Christ's crucifixion (1Peter 1:19-23; 2:24; Revelation 5:5-10). This is the sixth prophecy of Yeshua's/Christ's as typified in Isaac and His substitute (Genesis 22:8-14). Just a few feet away from this great event, but they had their eyes on the garment!

A prophecy of Isaiah that's 600 years of age;

(Isaiah 7:14) Therefore the L-rd Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried {and} a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [G-d with us].  "G-d is with us" is hanging on the cross! The virgin born Son of G-d is hanging on the cross! Instead of looking to each other and asking who this man is, they had 'better' things to do. They got lots in their hands trying to finger out who is getting His garments.

A prophecy that's 550 years of age; the prophet Daniel;

(Daniel 9:24, 25) Seventy weeks [of years, or 490 years] are decreed upon your people and upon Your holy city [Jerusalem], to finish {and} put an end to transgression, to seal up {and} make full the measure of sin, to purge away {and} make expiation {and} reconciliation for sin, to bring in everlasting righteousness (permanent moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) to seal up vision and prophecy {and} prophet, and to anoint a Holy of Holies. Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Anointed One, a Prince, shall be seven weeks [of years] and sixty-two weeks [of years]; it shall be built again with [city] square and moat, but in troublous times. Beginning of the first period of 7 weeks to rebuild Jerusalem after the captivity, following which was the second period of 62 weeks from the rebuilding of Jerusalem to the Crucifixion of the Messiah, a period of 483 years (Nehemiah 2; John. 19:30-31)  The roman soldiers are not really concerned who the Messiah is, all they concerned is His garment and the money they can make from it.

A prophecy 430 years of age; the prophet Malachi

He is the Son of Righteousness; healing is in His wings. (Malachi 4:2) But unto you who revere {and} worshipfully fear My name shall the Son of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings {and} His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall {and} leap for joy. The word 'wings' is a Hebrew word for that can actually means the "Talith", the cords of His 'Talith" or the 'hims' of His garments. Yeshua got healing in the 'Hims' of His garments. They got the garments that heals the issue of the woman with ‘the 12 years of blood issue’ had made whole! They got the garment cripple people toughed! They got it all in their hands, somehow if they keep their eyes on the garment and their eyes on the lots; their eyes on their gambling; it going to profit them; but what they do not realize; you could be close to the cross, but far from the blood! You can come to Church-service; go through every routine and ritual, and still walk out of this meeting; never been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb! Producing '20 minutes' sermon nets, with Church religion custom mentality, but they never changed! G-d not wants a group of people that only is near the cross, wearing a "cross" on your neck, but wants the people who understand when the Blood of the Lamb/Yeshua touched you, you will become a new creation! (2 Corinthians. 5:17) Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh {and} new has come!

The "old man"!

The old man; The spirit, nature, and power of sin the old man, which is nothing more nor less than the spirit, nature, and power of the devil working in men of disobedience. "Old things"!

Each aspect of the crucifixion is a scene from the past; a type from the OT Law being acted out and fulfilled by Yeshua Messiah Himself! We would look in vain in the New Testament Scriptures for a fulfillment by the Church (-age), because the Church owes no atonement. "She" is not innocent, but exonerated. Now Yeshua has paid all our sins! Yeshua Messiah is our High Priest as declared in  (Hebrews 4:14-16 Amplified) Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended {and} passed through the Heavens, {Yeshua Messiah} Jesus the Son of G-D, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him]. For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand {and} sympathize {and} have a shared feeling with our weaknesses {and} infirmities {and} liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly {and} confidently {and} boldly draw near to the Throne of grace (the Throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners)[Into His Heavenly Temple], that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

The curtain [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two...

When our High Priest died on Calvary (Luke 23:45, 46): While the sun's light faded {or} {was darkened}; and the curtain [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two. And Jesus [Yeshua}, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit! And with these words, He expired. states that the curtains of the Holy of Holies was torn from the top to the bottom. This clearly signaled that we now can enter into the Shekinah Presence of G-D  by the Blood of the Lamb!

Now where there is absolute remission (forgiveness and cancellation of the penalty) of these [sins and lawbreaking], there is no longer any offering made to atone for sin. Therefore, brethren, since we have full freedom {and} confidence to enter into the [Holy of] Holies [by the power and virtue] in the blood of Jesus / Yeshua, By this fresh (new) and living way which He initiated {and} dedicated {and} opened for us through the separating curtain (veil of the Holy of Holies), that is, through His flesh, And since we have [such] a great {and} wonderful {and} noble Priest [Who rules] over the house of G-D, (Hebrews 10:18, 21 Amplified)

Endless priesthood after the order of Melchizedek.

Endless priesthood (Psalms 110) compared with (Hebrews 5:10; 6:20; 7:3,17,21,23-28) Where Jesus/Yeshua has entered in for us [in advance], a Forerunner having become a High Priest forever after the order (with the rank) of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 6:20; Amplified)
