Even when we become mature Christians, we continue to grow in the Lord. As we grow in the Lord we become more mature Christians. When we are born again we usually begin our spiritual journey as little children.

Flogging was permitted by the law up to 40 stripes

But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all... For He was cut off (killed) from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people He was stricken". (Isaiah 53:5,6,8)

Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged (whipped) Jesus/Yeshua, he delivered him to be crucified.(Matthew 27:26)

A scourge was a Roman implement for severe physical punishment. It consisted of a handle with about a dozen leather cords with jagged pieces of bone or metal at each end to make the blow more painful and effective. The victim was tied to a post and the blows were applied to the bare back and loins and sometimes to the face and bowels. The flesh was cut in several places by each blow.  So hideous was the punishment that the victim often fainted and some died under it.  It was designed to get confessions and secrets from victims, but what could they get from an innocent sinless one (Acts 22:24-25)?  Flogging was permitted by the law up to 40 stripes (Deuteronomy 25:3). Jews reduced this to 39 stripes (2 Corinthians 11:23-25).  If the scourge used on Yeshua had 12 thongs and He was hit even 39 times this would make 468 stripes. If some struck in the same place and cut deeper each time one can see how His body, because of the intense hatred back of each blow, was marred more than any other man's! (Isaiah 52:14).

Without G-d there is no hope for mankind! It is obvious that man is separated from G-d when we view the ever-worsening situation in the world today. That is why G-d sent Yeshua, the Messiah, Who came to deliver us from our sins and to bring us into a new life in Him. Did you know that you have found the Messiah who said: "Do not think that I came to abolish the law or the prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill!" (Matthew 5:17)?

...In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with G-d. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing, made that was made. In Him was life and the life was the light of men. (John 1:1-4)

The Word refers to Yeshua or Jesus the Christ and proves His Pre-existence. He is an eternal Being as are also the Father {YHVH} and the Holy Spirit {Ruach HaKodesh}. They make up the Divine Trinity. Not only was the Word with G-d, but He was G-d and always will be as much Divine as the other two Members of the Trinity. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End; the First and the Last!
The Holy Spirit {Ruach HaKodesh} Himself overshadowed the Virgin Mary and placed within her womb the seed of the Father God. This child would be a sinless, perfect, immortal creation brought about by a miracle of G-d and the response of this pure virgin. Jesus the Christ - Yeshua Messiah The same yesterday, and today, and for ever. (Hebrews 13:8) ...Verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I AM. (John 8:58) Also a clear explanation of who Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ is, you will find in Isaiah 53! Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ will come again to the earth - personally, visibly and bodily - to consummate history and the eternal plan of G-d.

The Jewish Issue...?

Today Messianic Jews are seeking to put the Messiah back within His biblically Jewish context. Messianic Judaism is a spiritual renaissance, a revival, a return to the faith as the Messianic Jews had in the first-century, unencumbered by the traditions of men. It is a return to a pure and simple faith based upon having a living, vibrant and personal relationship with the God (G-d) of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through the Messiah Yeshua.
The real issue Messianic Jews must recognize is not whether it is Jewish to believe in Yeshua, because the Jewishness of Yeshua is historically unquestionable. The real issue at stake here is whether Yeshua is truly the Messiah or not. If He is, then it is the most Jewish thing in the world to believe in Him! If He is not the Messiah, then we should not follow Him.
There is only one way to find out and that is to go back into the
Jewish Scriptures ourselves and study the Messianic prophecies.

According to the Jewish Scriptures, the Messiah was to come twice:

  1. The first time to suffer and die.
  2. The second time to usher in the Messianic era of peace upon the earth.

8 Ways to identify Messiah
according to the
Scriptures:

(Micah 5:2) 1. Where would He be born?
(Daniel 9:25) 2. When He would be born.
(Isaiah 7:14) 3. His manner of birth.
(Zechariah 11: 12, 13) 4. His betrayal.
(Psalm 22:16-18) 5. Manner of death
(Zechariah 12:10) 6. Piercing of hands, feet, and side
 (Psalm 22:7) 7. People mocking
(Isaiah 53:9) 8. Burial

Why did the Messiah have to die?

There is no other way to reconcile with a Holy G-d or escape eternal judgment, G-d's wrath, except through the propitiatory sacrifice of Jesus Christ/Yeshua Messiah, the Living Son of God and the shedding of His innocent blood!

The Person of 'Yeshua Ha-Mashiach' (Jesus Christ the Messiah)

In the Person of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach or Jesus the Christ, there are two natures, human and Divine, each in its completeness and integrity. They are distinguishable but indivisible; also that He is fully man and fully G-d! It is this sinless union of the Divine and human natures that qualify Him to be the only sacrificial Mediator  between  G-d and man. G-d taking on Himself human flesh!

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus - Yeshua Messiah: Who, being in the form of G-d, thought it not robbery to be equal with G-d: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:5-8)

Yeshua or Jesus could do nothing of Himself in all His earthly life. He attributed all His works, doctrines, powers, etc. to the Father {YHVH} through the anointing of the Holy Spirit {
Ruach HaKodesh}! Isaiah the Prophet (Isaiah 42:1-7; Isaiah 61:12-2) speaks of Messiah receiving His power to manifest divine acts by the anointing of the Holy Spirit {Ruach HaKodesh} and not by retaining His own former natural attributes and powers. Is it necessary for God to be anointed with the Holy Spirit {Ruach HaKodesh} to do what He is naturally capable of doing?  If it became necessary to anoint Yeshua or Jesus during His earthly life, then it proves He did not retain His former glory and attributes which He had from all eternity when He emptied Himself to become like men in all things He did not claim the attributes of G-d, but only the anointing of the Spirit {Ruach HaKodesh} to do His works.
His exaltation to original glory and the highest place under God the Father is proof of His lowest humiliation and earthly limitation short of being G-d by nature!

He was the perfect sacrifice!

Jesus/Yeshua, the one and only Son of G-d, came to earth and lived a perfect sinless life. He was crucified even though He was completely innocent. He received the punishment that we deserved. He was the perfect sacrifice; He was put into our place and took on Himself the sentence of death that should have been ours! For we all have sinned, and come to short of the (original) Glory of God (Romans 5:8)

The blood of G-d's Son would pay for sins complete! His precious Blood would satisfy the demands of justice and provide a basis for one-for-all forgiveness! Forever and ever!

Jesus Sacrificial suffering and death was there for you!

You also can be saved, today! By repenting and asking Him for forgiveness from your sins. He is in full compassion waiting to forgive you. It doesn't matter what you have done your past, if you cry out to Jesus/Yeshua for forgiveness, He will not reject you. The word "repent" literally means "to turn away from." (Go into a totally other direction!) (Change your mind; Meta noyi) You need to look at your life, admit and confess that you are a sinner, genuinely desire to turn your back from a sinful life, and ask Jesus/Yeshua to forgive you. If you do this, He will to forgive you and also not remember your errors anymore. The Divine Covenant Promise is going to work over you life also!

He rose from the grave!

Jesus/Yeshua did not, however, remained dead! After three days, He rose from the grave and later ascended into heaven. He will return for all those who are trusting in Him as their Savior!

It is finished!

The Divine New Covenant Promise is going to work in your life also! Jesus Christ the Messiah (Yeshua) is our High Priest in Heaven! He is interceding for us with the Father in Heaven {YHVH}. The Holy Spirit {Ruach HaKodesh} is interceding also, when we lift up our devoted prayers to heaven! His suffering and death was not a disaster, but an achievement!

But Christ/Yeshua being come an High Priest of good things to come, by greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is so to say, not of this building (Hebrews 9:11)
Wherefore G-d also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus/Yeshua every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ/Yeshua is L-rd, to the glory of G-d the Father {YHVH}! (Philippians 2:9-11)

The deity of Yeshua Messiah
Hypostatic Union

Yeshua Messiah or Jesus Christ is an theanthopic Person - "the G-d - Man"! He is unique in being only one Person, yet having two complete natures, -human & Divine-! To understand how these two natures are united and function in the Person of Yeshua or Jesus goes beyond human comprehension. However there are certain things in the Scripture explicitly or implicitly teaches about this hypostatic union. Yeshua Messiah is a Divine - human Person added a human nature (Not a human person) in the incarnation. There is continuity of person - the Person who was the Divine pre-existent logos is the same Person that is Jesus, the Christ! Yeshua or Jesus is not 'humanized' Deity or 'Deified humanity', but one eternal Person Who now has two full, integral natures that are united, but not mixed! Yeshua or Jesus was conscious of both natures even as He functioned as one Person. (Speaking about Himself He used "I" or "Me" not "we" or "us"!) The hypostatic union eliminates separate, independent personal subsistence of either nature. They function together. Emphasis should be on the one Person, not on trying to divide the activities of the the two natures. However, the two natures retain their own properties and effect the other!

Yeshua or Jesus had the full measure of the Holy Spirit {Ruach HaKodesh}, without any limitation and it could flow through Him! He could have the Spirit without measure, because His body wasn't mortal. He could be tempted in all points like we are, because He has a human nature also, but He was like Adam, the first human, before Adam sinned. Adam's and so Yeshua's body was neither mortal nor immortal. Yeshua or Jesus couldn't be killed until He made sin for us (John 10:18)

Any one who failed or reject to affirm Yeshua's humanity and Deity is being deceived and displays the spirit of the anti-christ. His personal profession of to be an 'Christian - faith' is than only hypocritical!

G-d became a man in Yeshua Messiah or Jesus the Christ, because only One was both, fully G-d and fully man, could achieve humanity's redemption. He always has been and will be fully G-d!

The new Covenant Promise

The sacrifice of Christ/Yeshua on the cross, His death and resurrection, marked the beginning of the age of the New Covenant. The Old Covenant showed mankind, what they ought to do, but it did not change their hearts so that they would want to live G-d's Way. The Old Covenant also had sacrifices that covered sins, which are NOT taken away! But... the New Covenant provided for a perfect sacrifice (Messiah Himself), that would take sins away and provide eternal forgiveness! The Covenant commitments that God has made throughout history are all about Yeshua, the Messiah, Jesus Christ! Through faith in our only Savior, we can experience the New Covenant Promise of full forgiveness of our sins. By trusting Him daily, not only on our Sunday-meeting, and staying close to Him, we are going to experience the Divine transformation of our hearts and motivations. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ is the one, whose death and resurrection marked the beginning of the New Covenant age, and Whose coming again will see us transformed and blessed in eternity! It is a Divine process by the Holy Spirit! So we become more and more with a character like Yeshua, the Messiah, Jesus Christ Himself! Also the Prophet Jeremiah was predicting a New Covenant.

(Jeremiah 31:31-34).This is the Covenant, that I will make with them after those days, saith the L-rd, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I write them; And their sins and iniquities, will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. (Hebrews 10:16, 17, 18) (See also Colossians 2:14-17)

Therefore if any man be in
Christ/Yeshua, He is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of G-d, Who had reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ/Yeshua Messiah, and had given us the ministry of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17, 18)
The Covenant of redemption is still G-d's provision in the Atonement, foreordained in eternity!

The true Christian does not permit anything in his life which is ungodly and un-Christ-like In view of the fact that we do not know any man after the flesh, not even Messiah Yeshua, the Christ, it is vain for any man to profess relationship with Christ/Yeshua according to the flesh, while he is unchanged in heart and life and dead in trespasses! Both outward and inward sin must pass away or one cannot claim to be in Yeshua/Christ!

The spirit, nature, and power of sin the old man, which is nothing more nor less than the spirit, nature, and power of the devil working in men of disobedience. All of the unclean thing; demonic, moral, and physical uncleanness must be cleansed from body and spirit if one wants the fulfillment of the promises of 2 Corinthians 6:16-18!

(See also at Strongholds for to know more about "the old man")
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Corinthians 7:1)

G-d was in Christ/Yeshua, reconciling people to Himself!
G-d
does not impute sin to those who have confessed and are reconciled to Him (Romans 4:7-8).
G-d has committed to the reconciled the word of reconciliation.
G-d has made the reconciled ambassadors for Yeshua to reconcile others! (2 Corinthians 5:20; Romans 5:10).
G-d made Christ/Yeshua a sin-offering, that man might become righteous! (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Five Names of the Messiah Yeshua!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty G-d, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

1. Wonderful, a miracle; a marvelous thing; wonderful.
(Isaiah 29:14; Exodus 15:11; Psalm 77:11-15; 88:10-12; 89:5; 119:129;Daniel 12:6; Isaiah 9:6; 25:1)
2. Counselor. Advise; consult; to deliberate; guide. This name expresses the idea that He is the Supreme Counselorthe One Who is qualified to give counsel and advice to all created beings!

3. The mighty G-d. Powerful; Mighty; Champion; Chief, Almighty; the Strong One! It literally means the Mighty Almighty, or the conquering G-d. One of many places where the Messiah is called "G-d"! (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; 20:28; Romans 9:5; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20)

4. The everlasting Father; the Father of Eternity; the Planner of the ages; and Father of all time! (Hebrews 1:2) It does not mean that Yeshua or Jesus the Messiah is the one known as God, the Father, the first person of the Trinity, for He is another person! He is the second Person of the G-dhead!
(See more in the doctrine of the “
Trinity”!)

5. The Prince of Peace—the Peaceful Prince. He shall promote and increase His government and peace without wars! (Isaiah 9:6; 2:2)

He is the Creator of the Universe, Galaxies or Space. There was, there is and there shall be no end of His creations!

The Messiah's
suffering's, death, burial and... resurrection was not a disaster or desperate act of G-d, but an accomplishment!
The believer should seek to know all he can understand, appreciate, and experience the importance of, the Person, ministry and work of the Holy Spirit, as revealed in the Word of G-d!
