Belshazzar & his most important were partying... ! One evening, as King Belshazzar and his most important were feasting, suddenly the king saw human fingers writing on the Palace wall. His face turned white with fair, and his knees started shaking. The message was written in a language he couldn’t understand, so he called wise men together! “Tell me what this means” the king demanded, but when none of these wise men could explain, he grew more afraid! The queen reassured him and told that Daniel could help him solve the riddle! Only Daniel was able to explain the secret writing, because of the One G-d he served! Without any reward Daniel replied modestly, as he simple wanted to serve G-d in humility: “Because you, king have used the sacred cups for your partying and have worshipped false gods, the Only G-d (of Daniel) has shortened your reign. He has weighed you on His scales and decided that you are not good enough to be king”! (Daniel 5) |
